The U.S. Embassy in Abuja is seeking to employ suitable and qualified candidates for the position of Electrical Controls Technician in the Facilities Maintenance Section. Position Title: Electrical Controls Technician – FSN-07/FP-07 Location: Abuja Basic Function of the Position: Incumbent will carry out skilled maintenance and repair work throughout the New Embassy Compound (NEC) buildings, grounds and residential owned/leased properties. S/he specializes in electrical control systems of automated equipment and assisting in the programming control sequence, control devices and their interface with the Building Automation System (BAS). Completion of secondary school is required. Completion of two (2) years of vocational training or apprenticeship recognized as producing journeyman level skills in the repair and maintenance of digital building control systems. Minimum of three (3) years journeyman experience in a large, modern, commercial or Government office building as an Electrical Controls Technician with digital building control system knowledge is required. Level III (Good working knowledge) Speaking/Reading/Writing in English and a local language is required. Good working knowledge of building electrical control systems (structure and design), direct control technology, devices and control wiring is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and other technical programs like AutoCAD is required. A valid Nigerian driver’s license is required. Selection Process When fully qualified, U.S. Citizen Eligible Family Members (USEFMs) and U.S. Veterans are given preference.
